Antique Victorian Gold & Mop Binoculars 1893 Chicago World's Fair Bracelet Charm
Antique Victorian Gold & MOP Binoculars 1893 Chicago World's Fair Watch Fob Charm Pendant. Beautiful charm of Opera Glasses carved from Mother of Pearl and Gold. Not sure of the gold quality, probably plate or filled. And, depending on the light seems to depend if it's yellow gold or rose gold. The images of the charm with the microfiber background were taken in the outdoors under a porch...
And the other images were taken indoors under incandescent lighting. Every once in awhile, if the angle and the lighting is juuuuust right, you can look into the glasses and catch a blurry glimpse of a b&w photo of the Palace of Fine Arts: a 600,000 square feet exhibition building for the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, Ill. The charm is in fine condition with the appropriate gentle wear of a piece of this age.
The Mother of Pearl looks darker in the images than it does in person. But yes, there is a small dink in the metal on the underside of one end of the binoculars. The charm measures approx 7/8" long by 3/4" wide by 1/3 deep not including the bale, which is original to the piece. And please, check out my other items for sale.
